Macaron Keychain

I made this macaron keychain last week. Was really pleased after I finished it as it was another one of the things that I wanted to do. I picked a strawberry and chocolate flavour macarons to work with as I love this two colour combinations. Together they looked sweet :)

Oh it can be used as a phone charm or bag charm too, as you wish.

My plan is to come up with some other flavours too :) Is there any flavours that you can think of that would look good together? Let me know!

Now available in my shop here.

Patisserie Print Couch

Who wouldn't love to own this? A beautiful sitting couch with patisserie fabric print?

Just sitting on it and not eating desserts would make me very happy.

Imagine coming back home and sinking onto it...I bet you would be smiling from cheek to cheek. ;)

This is my dream couch, that's for sure. Maybe it would be many of yours too?

Actually thinking about it, I wished they make bedsheets with this print too. I know I would love it.

Dollhouse Miniature Food - Cupcakes for Ruki BJD Food

These cupcakes were the latest dollhouse miniature food I made recently, especially for Lati Yellow dolls.

These are perfect for Lati Yellow Dolls, but they are not 1:12 scale dollhouse miniatures as they are actually bigger than the usual cupcakes I make.

I was actually experimenting and I am pleased with them. I am going to make a few more for Ruki's bakery. :)

Dollhouse Miniature Jelly 1/12 Dollhouse Miniature Scale

With this hot weather going here, I've been thinking of all ways to cool myself down lately, and that includes drinking lots of ice water, shower in cold water, freezing my watermelon and eating them frozen! It's pretty addictive and I almost need a slice a day.

Just the other day, I was out with my friend at the food court. It was a hot day and after lunch, she wanted dessert. Guess what, she bought half a watermelon at the supermarket and both of us just ate it with spoons. :D

It's not surprising that I would yearn for some cool desserts - even in miniature scale.

This is actually my first time trying to make dollhouse miniature jelly, and I'm very happy with the result. All the time, I have to tell myself to be patient and let it to dry. I'm glad I did.

Have a wonderful weekend all!

How long does it take?

I get this question a lot.."How long does it take for you to make an item?"

Whenever I get this question, in my heart, I really don't know the answer. I've never timed myself on a stop watch while making something.

The truth is, there are things that you need to wait for it to dry before you can move onto the next step, so how do you really time it?

Besides, it really doesn't matter to me how long it takes as long as the outcome is beautiful.

Sometimes I get other ideas while working on the initial idea, and I end up changing things along the way...Or things were a little more complex than how I initially thought, and it requires more time to think about the execution before I proceed...so I really don't know.

But I do know the goal is to make it as beautiful as possible and in the process, every little detail matter.

I saw these words being used in another picture and it resonates so much with what I strive to do.

Creating beautiful things is possibly my life long mission and I will always give my best. :)

Building Ruki's Bakery

My last post regarding building Ruki's Bakery was about her dollhouse bakery window. You can read more here. I actually completed it and moved onto the actual bakery shelf - which was exciting to me for many reasons.

Did I want 1 or 2 shelves, what colour would it be and other endless questions came to my mind. I finally sat down and started making it. :)

In the end, I made a bigger one first, and followed by a smaller one. The idea was that I wanted a L shape counter, which was why I ended up making 2 shelves. ----> Have to make MORE cakes, desserts and pastries to fill it up.

Here in this photo is the smaller shelf.

I'm not even done with the entire L shape concept yet as I'm still thinking....so I'll show more when it's done.

Dollhouse Miniatures 1:12 Scale Raspberry White Chocolate Tart

I made these dollhouse miniatures raspberry white chocolate tarts a little while ago - right after I made the strawberry tarts. I couldn't shake off the red colour trend, which had me continue making some red desserts...

Red is such a eye catching, stunning colour. Even when I place them with other desserts and pastries, they just stand out easily.

I might be the only one who is noticing the details, but I'm actually most pleased with how the mint leaf turned out. I was experimenting on them and finally found a new way to make them. Irregularly shaped and with very deep busy veins. I loved how the sunlight shines and make them look too :)

I haven't been taking Ruki out for photo shoots for a while, but the sun was shinning really brightly ...

These are available at my shop now!

Dollhouse Miniatures 1:12 Scale Strawberry Tart

From time to time, I like to treat myself to a favourite pastry or dessert. :) The other day, I passed by Delifrance and saw their freshly baked strawberry tart. It looked really yummy and I was so tempted. I knew I had to buy it. I actually had to hold back from eating it right away since I bought it to motivate myself to make the  dollhouse miniatures  version. :)

Normally it would have taken me a few days to get the dollhouse miniatures version done, but I had these slightly larger strawberries stashed somewhere, so I was able to get them done up pretty quickly - to my delight!

I ate the tart right away after photographing it the next day, and it tasted really good....
I like simple, wholesome strawberry tart. A crusty tart base filled with custard cream, with sliced strawberries on the top. A thick layer of nappage gives the fresh strawberries a shiny gloss surface. Nothing can be better than that.

Although the dollhouse miniature ones that I made were a little different from the one I bought, I like how the peanuts at the side added a special touch to them.

For now, they will be placed in Ruki's Bakery which I'm working hard on whenever I can.

If you like some delicious strawberry tarts for your dollhouse bakery, please contact me using the comments box :) I just might whip up a few sometime and list them in my shop soon too.
