Pink Roses...

It was great working on my real flora arrangement yesterday. The flowers were fresh and gave such a lovely scent. I really like inhaling the scent, it smells so green and fragrant.
The only thing is, the roses weren't in full bloom yet, so which made the arrangement a little hard (many empty spaces). It bloomed a little more this morning and hopefully in the next few days, it will look even better.

Love this pink.

I mist the flowers in the morning before I took the photos :)

Flora arrangement is kind of addicting.

White paint

Woke up early today, 7am on a Saturday morning! I really have a lot to accomplish today.

I was also eager to take some photographs.

A coat of white paint & a little distressing is all it takes to change some things...

1:12 scale rose adorned tray

Just a few pink roses...and a rose adorned tray is born!

I love it. :) How about you?

I'm not teaching this Saturday, so it is a off day for me. I've plans to go back to the flora school to get more flowers for my flora practice session.

I've tried to ask a few nurseries, but either they don't sell a whole lot of variety or they sell in a bundle. I don't need them in bundles. In the end, I called up the school and I can get the flowers from them. Works well for me.

I hope to share some photos this weekend!

1:12 Scale Crochet Doilies

I received a surprise mail from Susan this week! She sent me a crochet doiley and a ready to fold pink shabby box. About the doiley, it's the most delicate and detailed lace crochet doiley I have ever seen! Truly incredible....

Just see for yourself!

I'm so in love with it...Thanks again Susan, I'll forever treasure it, and they will appear in a lot of my photographs now...;)

See how my cake looks on it...

See Susan's spectacular work on its own...

Flower Arrangement

I had lots of fun yesterday evening attending a flower arrangement class with a few friends. And I mean it's REAL flora arrangement; not miniatures.

Now that I am getting more interested in flowers, I thought it would be really interesting to attend one. Working with fresh flowers is really therapeutic and you can't help but feel happy. All your senses are "enlightened" so to speak.

Maybe more so in the local scene, flora arrangement gives an impression that - it's usually taken up by retirees, people who has too much free time on their hands, or maybe people who are crazy. I guess it's a little like miniatures.

Flora arrangement is also not what a lot of people think - just angle things the way you want it; afterall it's about art and art is free expression right?

But there are guidelines and foundation with regards to flora arrangement. In a short time span, I realized there are real steps and basic foundation rules. I'm pretty amazed and intrigued that at the end of it, I can make a nice round table flower arrangement. I came out of class feeling that time was well spent!

I've never seen such a nice shade of cadmium yellow for roses. I just love it. I also love the light green listome.

Enjoy!!

1:12 scale pink gerbera daisies

This weekend, I experimented and try making some gerbera daisies, which is also one of my favourite flowers. I love that there are so many colours available, and it is so bright and cherry!
I am really happy with this soft light pink colour.

This set is now available at my etsy shop : http://www.miniaturepatisserie.etsy.com

I'll be experimenting and trying other colours as well, so stay tuned!
